摘要: Abstract Siphonophores are by far the dominant macroplanktonic-micronektonic taxon of animals present in 48 hr series samples as a whole. A total 35 species were identified, with four these making up over 90% numbers. Details how siphonophore population was estimated discussed, but few underwent clear cut diel vertical migration although there considerable variability their distributions sampling periods. The hydrography area investigated relation to its possible effects on faunal assemblages, and important role siphonophores carnivores planktonic food chain discussed.
