Predilection of Teaching Aids Among Year I Medical Students at a Medical College of Mauritius

摘要: Introduction: Teaching aids are the motivational tool which plays an important role in teaching and learning processes such a way that it makes classroom lively, active interactive. It creates environment of interest for students as well helps to clarify understand subject matter better way. The objective this study is know opinion regarding among 1 st year MBBS during activities physiology at SSR Medical College. Methods: data were collected by pre-designed questionnaire College, Belle Rive, Mauritius. was conducted between March April, 2016. Out 147 students, 139 participated study. analyzed using nonparametric test P values Chi-Square test. < 0.05 considered significant. Results: 60.4% thought combination black board PowerPoint slides more beneficial compared blackboard, whiteboard selected 24.5%, 14.4% 0.7% respectively. blackboard Power Point most understandable informative 51.8% 64% Similarly, same method helpful retention 48.2% respondents emphatic on points 47.5%. More than 50% found captivating (55.4%), interactive (57.6%), providing excellent visual clarity (56.8%), easy summarization (51.1%) effective presentation (56.8%). 46% aid covered topic per lecture.  Conclusion: This shows majority preferred viz. physiology.
