摘要: Tetraoxy-anion of iron in +6 oxidation state (FeVIO42−, FeVI), commonly called ferrate, has shown tremendous potential as a green oxidative agent for decontaminating water and air. Encapsulation solid potassium salt ferrate (K2FeO4) circumvents the inherent drawbacks instability under humid conditions. In encapsulated strategy, controlled release without exposing to environment avoids self-decomposition oxidant by air, is mostly used decontaminate efficiently. This study demonstrated formulation microcapsules with natural materials present chitosan, whose rate core material can be type intermediate hydrocarbon layer pH-dependent swelling chitosan shell. The pH played pivotal role shell releasing oxidant. strong acidic solution, tended swell quickly FeVI at faster than neutral Additionally, among several long-chain compounds, oleic acid exhibited strongest “locking” effect when applied layer, giving rise slow FeVI. Coconut oil mineral oil, comparison, allowed penetrate within shorter lengths time showed comparable degrees degradation target contaminant, methylene orange, ambient temperature near-neutral These findings have practical ramifications remediating environmental industrial processes.
