A parametric study of window-to-floor ratio of three window types using dynamic simulation

摘要: The windows can be responsible for unnecessary energy consumption in a building, if incorrectly designed, shadowed or oriented. Considering an annual thermal comfort assessment of space, are over-dimensioned, they contribute to the increase heating needs due heat losses, and also cooling over-exposure solar radiation. When under-dimensioned, same space may benefit from reduced losses through glazing surface but does not radiation gains. Therefore, it is important find optimum design that minimizes both needs. This paper presents parametric study window type (single, double triple glazing), orientation opening size, located city Coimbra, Portugal. An seasonal were done, order obtain set values around 360 degree orientation.
