Method for producing optical waveguiding layers in solid transparent media

摘要: The specification describes a method for producing light guiding layers in transparent crystals, such as LiNbO3 and LiTaO3, by selectively outdiffusing the Li2O component, heating above 1,000 DEG C nonreactive environment thereby effecting change refractive index of surface portion crystal. Effective acoustooptic electrooptic devices based on these crystals can be produced this technique.
