摘要: • Five morphologically distinguishable cell types were observed in 56 epiretinal and vitreous membranes obtained surgically from eyes with various ocular diseases: (1) retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells that evident only association detachment, (2) macrophages, (3) fibrocytes, (4) fibrous astrocytes characteristic of all disease groups, (5) myofibroblast-like had mostly the characteristics fibrocytes and, occasionally, RPE or astrocytes. The combination varied different membranes, but formation collagen development properties common features seemed to be within capacity several types. These two seem basis for contractile membranes.
