摘要: Abstract 1. The function of the facial pits in oriental Crotalines genera Trimeresurus and Agkistrodon was examined by electro-physiological recording from nerves pit membrane. Functional response to pure infrared stimuli demonstrated, confirming results obtained New World earlier workers. 2. Response tonic case “normal” phasic “painful” stimuli. 3. Golay detector functioning organ excluded, membrane shown lack any special absorption powers spectrum. Control experiments on analogous Colubrid snakes produced negative results. 4. equally well at temperature range which are active.
