摘要: AbstractA theoretical simulation of the behaviour debris particles in elastohydrodynamic (EHD) contacts is an effective means for obtaining information regarding life and performance lubricated machine elements compared with costly experimentation. The present work indicates that are often responsible two failure modes: (a) scuffing caused by particle agglomeration inlet zone EHD contact (b) local melting due to high heat produced friction sliding contacts. predictions agreement experimental evidence ways: firstly, may fail because if lubricant becomes contaminated, where blockage eventually fluid starvation, and, secondly, asperity encounter flash temperatures which cause thus plastic deformations.
