摘要: The Indian Electricity Sector has gone through a lot of metamorphosis. three major acts concerning the electricity sector were Act, 1910, (Supply) 1948 and Regulatory Commissions 1998. With changing times many had become passA© thus to be reviewed. Act 2003, enacted by Parliament India, received President’s assent on 26th May 2003 came in force June 10, 2003. main aim was consolidate laws relating generation, transmission, distribution, trading use generally for taking measures conducive development industry, promoting competition therein, protecting interest consumers supply all areas, rationalisation tariff, ensuring transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion efficient environmentally benign constitution Central Authority, establishment Appellate Tribunal matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. However even after deliberations there are some issues that overlooked. They need addressed promptly so power can truly engine growth Economy.
