摘要: The World Health Organisation Study Group on Tobacco Product Regulation (TobReg) has issued in 2005 an "Advisory Note" entitled: "Waterpipe Smoking: Effects, Research Needs and Recommended Actions by Regulators". "Waterpipe" smoking is now considered a global public health threat the corresponding artefact actually known world under three main terms: hookah, narghile shisha. This important report, first ever prepared WHO subject, poses two major problems. On one hand, its bibliographical references dismiss chief relevant studies. other, it contains certain number of errors many orders: biomedical, sociological, anthropological historical. purpose present study to highlight, one, where these weaknesses lie show how this official report can be considerably improved. We realise that widely advertised early studies were not taken into consideration whereas they shed substantial light peculiar form help understanding high complexity. As for concrete found deal with chemistry smoke, health-related effects, patterns, description history use, gender underage use aspects, prevention research needs field. scientific credibility international expert may at stake if recommendations do rely sound objective findings comprehensive review existing literature. critical comments will certainly improve report.
