摘要: To attain a perceived acceptable quality of life, the mining industry plays crucial role as demand for minerals and energy increases while ore decreases. On other hand, social environmental footprints which companies leave behind are deemed unacceptable by communities affected. The collaborative effort stakeholders has crafted Philippine Mining Act 1995 to address needs both company people it affects. By itself, law is all encompassing covers triple bottom-line sustainable development – growth economy, protection, responsibility. However, RA 7942 was not able mitigate degradation nor contribute poverty alleviation preservation cultural communities.The study centered on two case studies in separate areas country reflection microcosm national operations industry.
