摘要: We demonstrate simultaneous deceleration and trapping of a cold atomic molecular mixture. This is the first step towards studies atom-molecule collisions at low temperatures as well application sympathetic cooling. Both atoms molecules are cooled in supersonic expansion loaded into moving magnetic trap that brings them to rest via Zeeman interaction from an initial velocity 375 m/s. use beam seeded with oxygen, entrain it lithium by laser ablation prior deceleration. The ends loading mixture static quadrupole trap, which generated two permanent magnets. estimate 10^{9} trapped O_{2} 10^{5} Li background pressure limited lifetime on order 1 sec. With further improvements entrainment we expect cooling within reach.
