摘要: We discuss the weak interactions from an $S$-matrix point of view in order to make some qualitative statements about high-energy behavior. In separate others as much possible, attention is focused on leptons neglecting electromagnetism. examine consequences imposing constraints unitarity and analyticity amplitudes whose low-energy behavior assumed be correctly given by usual Fermi theory (including possibility neutral currents). first study corrections limit using Mandelstam iteration express all lepton-lepton two-body scattering third constant terms a small number subtraction constants. then speculate beyond perturbation theory. forward dispersion relations propose mechanism for providing necessary damping at high energies. The existence intermediate vector boson coupled weakly but interacting strongly with itself. this hypothesis.
