摘要: (1) Botanical composition, utilization of vegetation and animal biomass were compared on the 12 000 ha cattle section 8 game Buffalo Range Ranch in south eastern Rhodesia. (2) Ten large herbivore species present section. The total was approximately same as that section, where a few animals present. (3) Percentage herbaceous 43% but only 28% Twelve grass utilized more than 10% by cattle, opposed to twenty game. (4) Up 20% available browse (woody trees shrubs) 7-8% (5) Grazing less area-specific animals. This due partly controlled management inherent behavioural patterns wild species. showed wider choice plant both preferred (grass) plants. (6) Cover abundance, litter cover height greater whilst soil capping, moribund extent erosion lower There also higher density shrubs plants < 3 m)
