摘要: Over the last few years, academia, governmental agencies, automotive and electronic industries have increased their interest in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) services. The leading European ITS stakeholders are pushing to start a "day-one" applications 2015. Among them, collection of Floating Car Data (FCD) generated by moving vehicles is expected support many practical use cases near future, such as road safety provision, in-vehicle diagnostics, traffic monitoring. This paper shows that consumer devices on mass market (such smartphones) available networking technologies Wi-Fi cellular) can compensate for current lack dedicated equipment mature vehicular communication technologies. The proposed SmartCar (SMARTphone-based floating CAR data collection) platform gives twofold contribution efficient early large-scale through: (i) an intelligent smartphones collect "augmented" FCD from telematics external sensors (e.g., pollution detectors urban sensing), (ii) adoption offloading strategy leverages hotspots alleviate burden cellular network due massive generation data. technological feasibility augmented gathering remote transfer demonstrated through prototype, preliminarily experimented board vehicle based low-cost off-the-shelf hardware open-source software. Results preliminary field trials collected, whereas effectiveness at further assessed simulation campaign under realistic settings.
