摘要: Paramecium schewiakoffi sp. nov. is described from a pond in Shanghai, China. It freshwater species belonging to the “aurelia” subgroup of genus. similar size and shape P. jenningsi, but has single large micronucleus “chromosomal” morphological type, while jenningsi two smaller micronuclei. The general morphology, morphometric characteristics nuclear reorganization pattern, random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprint small subunit rRNA gene sequence are presented for species. Comparison with other indicates that it valid new Geographical locations reported many do not support theory all ciliates have cosmopolitan distribution. proposed that, an extension Jankowski's earlier suggestion, genus should be subdivided into four subgenera: Chloroparamecium, Helianter, Cypriostomum Paramecium, on basis morphometric, biological molecular differences.
