摘要: The role of thyroid function in Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been subject to a number studies during the last years. We investigated possible relationship between plasma levels biologically active free form thyroxin (fT4) and cognitive 227 outpatients with mild moderate Alzheimer s cross-sectional study design. A significant negative correlation was found fT4-levels Mini-Mental state examination (MMSE) score (Spearman Rho = -0.14, p=0.04). When lowest quartile ( 19.0 pmol/l), statistically lower mean MMSE-scores were seen group highest (p 0.05). fT4 groups compared for depression measured Geriatric Depression Score (GDS 15), slightly higher 1s 2nd 3rd 4th without reaching statistical significance (1st fT4: GDS 5.2 +/- 3.8; 2nd: 5.3 4.0; 3rd: 4.4 3.4; 4th: 4.5 3.8) pointing reverse depressive mood. This leads conclusion that high might result worsening impairment positive effect on mood AD.
