Comparison between IEEE and CIGRE ampacity standards

摘要: Both IEEE and CIGRE have published industry standards for calculating the ampacity of overhead conductors. Although these two use same basic heat balance concept, they different approaches to calculate ratings. As a result differences, rating calculated by each method may vary almost 10% depending on environmental conditions being considered. This paper looks at used individual terms, overall impact terms rating, sensitivity various input parameters. The user should be aware variations in ratings and, if consider significant, needs select single approach their lines based understanding experimental research supporting method.
