摘要: It is well known that circularly polarized electromagnetic waves propagating along the magnetic field in plasma are strongly absorbed when wave frequency matches electron cyclotron frequency. This absorption can be eliminated by adding a weak undulator, leading to undulator-induced transparency (UIT) of plasma. Moreover, group velocity reduced, resulting extreme compression energy Compressed propagation direction and used for synchronous or ion acceleration. Numerical simulations reveal yet another interesting property UIT plasma: strong coupling conversion between two circular polarizations. Depending on how important this cross-polarization effect is, several regimes have been identified explored fluid particle-in-cell simulations.
