摘要: BACKGROUND It has been reported that, in patients with intraductal papillary-mucinous tumor (IPMT) of the pancreas, it is difficult to distinguish adenoma from carcinoma preoperatively. Recently, also that telomerase activity was detected many carcinoma. In this report, authors used method repeat amplification protocol (TRAP) assay on pancreatic juice retrieved by endoscopic retrograde aspiration (ERP aspiration). METHODS Pancreatic collected 28 (13 and 15 adenoma) using ERP at either Hiroshima University Hospital or its affiliated hospitals. Two samples were each patient. Each sample examined cytology for Papanicolaou staining TRAP assay. RESULTS Four 13 IPMT (31%) diagnosed accurately cytology. Seven nine who classified benign tumors cytologic assessment had expressed activity. Overall, 11 (85%) correctly associated All assessment, not expressed. CONCLUSIONS In study, found a comparatively high probability These results suggest juices may be as an adjunct diagnosis aid further distinguishing between malignant pancreas Cancer 2001;91:35–41. © 2001 American Society.
