摘要: The north-western part of Sudan, which is the driest region on earth has revealed newly surface and near paleodrainage network underneath sand sheets indicating possibilities for economic groundwater reservoirs. Advanced Space-born Thermal Radiometer (ASTER), Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM ~90 m) DEMs Quickbird images corroborate presence network. Bivariate quadratic surfaces with moving window size 3 × were fitted to SRTM DEM. second derivative curvature was calculated reveal landform classes that may receive most fossil water. results showed new unnamed depression recharges by a longitudinal vast amount during humid phases. demonstrate D8 algorithms are very efficient tools revealing characterizing hydrological elements in arid semi-arid regions they provide information exploration remote deserts over large scale prior geophysical survey.
