摘要: Objective:  While primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) is common in adolescents and young adults, simultaneous bilateral PSP (SBPSP) rare can be life-threatening if it progresses to tension pneumothorax. This study reviewed cases of identify the clinical features SBPSP. Methods:  All patients with diagnosed treated between June 1996 2006 were reviewed, clinicoradiological outcomes evaluated. Results:  Of 616 807 episodes PSP, 13 had SBPSP (1.6%) at first presentation, all male (mean age 20.9 ± 4.7 years, range 16–25 years). Compared non-SBPSP patients, significantly lower body weight BMI (P = 0.018 <0.001, respectively) higher height/body ratio 0.004). There was no significant difference their age, sex, smoking habits or height. Patients a incidence bleb/bullae seen HRCT lung compared (88.5% vs 63.5%, P = 0.016). In multiple logistic regression analysis, presence blebs/bullae independent risk factors for SBPSP. received video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery recovered uneventfully. The mean follow-up period 3.7 years (range 10 months–7 years). Conclusion:  having BMI, formation are development needs urgent assessment management, safe effective treatment.
