摘要: In this work, a link between the averaged strain energy density (SED) approach and peak stress method in case of cracks subjected to mixed mode (I+II) loading has been investigated. Some closed-form expressions density, volume radius R0, as function Stress Intensity Factors are provided for plane conditions under I+II loadings, material being thought isotropic linear elastic. On basis (PSM) some useful estimate I II intensity factors (SIFs) have recently derived. These relationships take advantage elastic stresses from FE analyses carried out by using given mesh pattern where element size type kept constants. The evaluation SIFs numerical analysis local field usually requires very refined meshes then large computational effort. usefulness PSM-based is that (i) only numerically evaluated at crack tip needed not set stress–distance data; (ii) employed rather coarse if compared those necessary whole field. By substituting SED it appears latter can be directly estimated means tip. Several on cracked plates tension considering different geometrical combinations, varying length 2a inclination ? (i.e. mixity) well d adopted finite elements, with aim evaluate components ?peak ?peak. all cases values derived analytically obtained based stresses, order verify range applicability proposed relationships.
