摘要: Objective The purpose of the present study was to assess relation between dental health and cardiovascular disease in an adult Swedish population. Material method A questionnaire sent 4811 randomly selected Swedes. It contained 52 questions about care habits, oral health, their socio-economic situation. Odd ratios for all diseases (CVD) subgroup myocardial infarction, stroke high blood pressure were calculated with a logistic regression model adjusted age, gender, smoking, income, civil status education. These subjects > or =41 years since few people suffer from CVD before this. Results national answered by 2839 (59%) 20-84 age and, them, 1577 41 more. We found significant association self-reported bleeding gums (odds ratio 1.60, p=0.0017), presence dentures 1.57, p=0.0076) known CVD, which has also been reported international studies. However, no loose teeth, deep pockets detected. Conclusion results indicate that especially gingival inflammation is associated CVD.
