Tools, beads, and migrations: Specific cultural traits in the Initial Upper Paleolithic of Southern Siberia and Central Asia

摘要: This paper explores the modes of dispersal, variability, and chronology Initial Upper Paleolithic (IUP) Southern Siberia northern Central Asia. Several types tool-markers, a peculiar type reduction technology two adornments, specific to area under study, are distinguished. Based on current data, author concludes that about 45,000 years ago, there was rapid eastern movement populations from core region in part mountains Russian Altai towards central Mongolia southwestern Transbaikal. In these regions, 43,000–40,000 second center blade-based IUP appeared. It characterized by forms tools, technologies personal adornments similar those region. Thus, transfer whole set unified cultural tradition occurred. Therefore, based geographic temporal distribution ancient moved along most southern possible routes, i.e. over territory present-day northwest China.
