摘要: Limnological data (e.g., water chemistry, lakewater temperature, vegetation zone and degree of human impact) were collected from lakes spanning the Russian arctic treeline in three regions: on Taimyr Peninsula near mouth Lena River, both central Siberia, Pechora western Russia. Pearson correlation canonical variates analyses revealed similar environmental gradients all regions. Variables expressing ionic composition (i.e., cations, anions, dissolved inorganic carbon conductivity) highly intercorrelated, as nutrients, chlorophyll a, particulate organic matter metal Fe Mn) concentrations. Lakewater transparency was related to colour Fe, Mn carbon) productivity. Regional differences among strong appeared reflect geology, hydrology impact. For example, Na Cl concentrations proximity ocean River regions but not more inland region. Extensive mining smelting at Norilsk, Peninsula, has apparently resulted elevated major ion closer city. Surface temperatures, variables particularly useful for distinguishing different biomes. Forest typically warmer, with slightly (DOC). Lakes forest–tundra often had higher matter, Mn. Tundra characterized by low nutrient DOC These will facilitate development models that predict outcome future climatic change subarctic aquatic ecosystems, well provide baseline limnological studies these remote
