摘要: Abstract As part of our research on aromatic plants from Africa, we have analyzed, via GC and CG/MS, the essential oils fresh leaves five Ocimum species tropical Africa: basilicum L., O. gratissimum americanum L. (syn: canum Sims), lamiifolium Hochst. ex Benth. minimum The chemical compositions basilicum, could be related to some chemotypes already defined for these three species: linalool- or methyl chavicol-types first species, thymol- eugenol- ocimenes/far- nesenes-types second one; finally, a high content chavicol (34.3%) linalool (17.8%) was found in oil, similar that described Brazilian species. On other hand, an oil dominated by 1,8-cineole time sample americanum. Finally, lamiifolium, which rich sabinene, is chemically time.
