摘要: Abstract An elevated serum level of human chorionic gonadotropin (HC G) in a patient whose primary tumor histologically appears to be pure seminoma implies the presence syncytiotrophoblastic giant cells either detectable by careful step sectioning or present metastatic disease. Inasmuch as malignant potential and radioresponsiveness are unknown elevation HCG may signal embryonal carcinoma, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection with adjuvant chemotherapy dependent on pathologic staging should considered for patients postorchiectomy levels. illustrative case is herein reported.
