摘要: An unusual and impressive hyperbilirubinemia was induced in Chinese hamsters by administration of diethylstilbestrol (DES). This icterus dose-dependent affected females more severely than males. However, a similar mortality detected both sexes. Another hamster, the Armenian even susceptible to icteric lethal effects DES. The hamster model DES-induced showed many clinical dissimilarities when compared human estrogen-induced jaundice, simple cholestatic jaundice. Furthermore, hepatic pathology distinctly different as canalicular cholestasis absent although other degenerative regenerative hepatocellular changes were present. Livers livers from contained Mallory bodies within 1 week after DES treatment. A modest, nonlethal jaundice also European injection, whereas Syrian not larger doses. unique sensitivity DES, spectrum these related (Armenian ± vs. resistant Syrian) provide an interesting for study effect on function.
