摘要: There is presently great interest in direct alcohol fuel cells, particularly the methanol cell (DEFC), which has several advantages over more developed cell. Carbon-supported platinum commonly used as anode catalyst low-temperature cells. However, pure Pt not most efficient for DEFC because its surface rapidly poisoned by strongly adsorbed species coming from dissociative adsorption of ethanol. Indeed, electrooxidation a partially oxygenated organic molecule, such primary alcohol, can be performed only with multifunctional electrocatalyst. This article presents an overview catalysts investigated materials DEFCs, particular attention on relationship between chemical and physical characteristics (catalyst composition, degree alloying, presence oxides) their activity ethanol oxidation reaction.
