摘要: The annual life cycle of Millerichthys robustus is described from an ephemeral pool in Veracruz, Mexico. state the can be divided into three periods: a flood period lasting September to March when was filled with water, drought April June dry, and humid July August intermittently filled. Soil substrate examined each these periods (flood, humid), embryos were found, stage embryonic diapause determined. During I; during II; mainly III small subset II (an example bet-hedging strategy). Two hatching (separated by two weeks) documented beginning period. Fish growth analyzed both males females, females showing overall slower rate smaller adult size. In ovarian maturity characterized histologically understand reproductive cycle. onset sexual began third week after (21 days) presence secondary characteristics Secondary Growth Stage some follicles. All stages oogenesis, postovulatory follicles ovulated oocytes observed fourth post (28 days) until death. M. appears exhibit similar patterns compared other killifish living seasonal water bodies closer equator. This study characterizes (for first time) adaptations robustus. information could useful evaluate potential risk populations and, if necessary, develop plans for their conservation.
