摘要: Abstract The variational calculus and direct-differencing objective analysis procedures, which are formulated to produce mass conservative wind fields from horizontal data, were evaluated in numerical experiments. In the initial tests, procedure was using a test flow field generated by land/sea breeze model. results indicated that this reproduced complex vertical quite well if minimum measurement density level retained. A second set of experiments employed method generate three-dimensional for Mikawa Bay area Japan, surface winds as input. weighting parameter procedure, ( α 1 2 )2, affected both resulting motion residual divergence. lower smaller values )2 there an optimum value minimize yielded similar patterns those method. However, requires very accurate data input obtain reasonable magnitude.
