Breast cancer screening programmes in 22 countries: current policies, administration and guidelines

摘要: The finding that mammography with or without clinical breast examination can reduce cancer mortality by 25-30% has prompted several countries to introduce routine screening on a population basis. International Breast Cancer Screening Network (IBSN) conducted surveys in 1990 and 1995 yield international data the policies funding administration of national regional pilot population-based programs. Comparison results two revealed changes from 1995. number (primarily European) have established plan launch programs increased 9 22. There been trend toward raising lower age limit for 40 50 years 2-year interval between screenings. Also noted was more widespread use self-examination as additional detection methods. Countries centralized systems policy were likely achieved complete coverage than those decentralized systems. IBSN is shifting its focus generating an database developing methodologies evaluation outcomes.
