摘要: δ-hemolysin is a hemolytic peptide produced by Staphylococcus, and it has been studied for nearly 50 years. Therefore, become model in the study of peptides interacting with membranes. In this review, we report some recent findings compare them previous works. 26 amino acid peptide, somewhat hydrophobic presenting zero net charge. Study its structure shown that α-helical amphipathic, such as many antimicrobial (e.g. magainin melittin). However, had not displayed any reported activity until publication showed high potency against Legionella. Its mode action based on direct interaction target accordance concentration, may slightly perturb membrane or lead to cell lysis. Peptide charge plays an important role membranes, variants. Some positively charged variants highly even active Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus. Finally, recently demonstrated preferentially binds lipid-disordered domains. It postulated result, enrichment lipid-ordered domains might increase concentration thereby improve activity.
