CONDITIONED REINFORCEMENT IN SECOND‐ORDER SCHEDULES1

摘要: Pigeons responded under a schedule in which food was presented only after fixed number of fixed-interval components were completed. Two such second-order schedules studied: one, 30 consecutive 2-min required; the other, 15 4-min required. Under both schedules, when 0.7-sec stimulus light at completion each interval, positively accelerated responding developed component. When no change occurred relatively low and constant rates prevailed component; similar result obtained interval except one terminated with primary reinforcement.
