摘要: The effects of oil solubility and composition on the zeta potential drop size oil-in-water emulsions stabilised by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) were studied electroacoustics ultrasonic attenuation. ζ-potentials toluene alkane found to decrease (be less negative) as water dispersed phase increased. also depended mixed oils, becoming more negative with increasing mole fraction an insoluble (hexadecane). As increased, conductance within Stern layer relative diffuse (Kis/Kds) which is interpreted due displacement shear plane further into layer. was calculated increase from ∼0.50 nm at oil–water interface (hexadecane) ∼2.5 a soluble toluene. lowering oils ascribed shift layer, resulting in interface. total surface related log decreased ∼7 × 10−9 Ω−1 3 hexadecane toluene, respectively. lower attributed reduction dielectric constant inside plane, caused presence oil.
