摘要: Optical systems that respect parity-time ($\mathit{PT}$) symmetry can be realized with proper incorporation of gain/loss materials. However, due to the absence magnetic response at optical frequencies, wave impedance is defined entirely by their permittivity and, hence, $\mathit{PT}$-symmetric character controlled solely via refractive index.
