摘要: Abstract Evaluation of Holistic Face ProcessingYaroslav KonarDoctor PhilosophyDepartment Psychology, Neuroscience & BehaviourMcMaster University2012Holistic processing has been deemed a crucial part human face processing. There arethree tasks that are indexes holistic and each is used by many researchersfor the purposes demonstrating either their participants have intact holisticprocessing or impaired missing. The thatdemonstrate inversion, composite face, thewhole-part tasks. In this dissertation, I evaluate hypothesis processingis important for identi cation. A secondary evaluated whetherthe three related whether they tapping thesame underlying process. Chapter2tests rst in large group youngadults shows e ect (an index processing) notrelated to accuracy on two cation Chapter3tested both hypotheses andshowed none one another areunrelated accuracy. Chapter4, older adults aretested task task, similar Experiment 2from Chapter2. Unlike results young adults, show signi cantpositive correlation between eventhough perform worse task.iii
