摘要: This investigation focuses on the effects of thermal dispersion in resin transfer molding (RTM). A set volume-average balance equations suitable for modeling mold filling RTM is described and implemented a numerical simulation. The energy equation based assumption local equilibrium includes term. Thermal an enhanced transport heat due to fluctuations fluid velocity temperature away from their average values. Nonisothermal experiments are performed center-gated disk investigate quantify effects. Good agreement found between experimentally measured numerically predicted temperatures, function transverse coefficient random glass fiber mat determined. results indicate that important processes must be included simulations obtain accurate predictions.
