Dementia with Lewy bodies according to the consensus criteria in a general population aged 75 years or older

摘要: Objective: To estimate the prevalence of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) according to consensus criteria in a general population aged 75 years or older. Methods: The “Kuopio 75+ study” is based health survey focused on clinical epidemiology and functional capacity among elderly subjects On 1 January 1998, random sample 700 was drawn from total born before 1923, living city Kuopio, northeast Finland (n = 4518). study underwent structured interview examination. Results: 601 (86% sample) were examined. A disorder diagnosed 137—a 22.8% (95% confidence interval 19.4% 26.2%). DLB 5.0% (3.2% 6.7%), comprising 22% all demented subjects. Probable 20 (3.3% (1.9% 4.8%)), possible 10 (1.7% (0.6% 2.7%)). Alzheimer’s disease 10.6% (47% subjects), vascular dementia, 5.3% (23%), other types dementing disorders, 1.8% (8%). Conclusions: In older, fulfilling diagnostic half that same as for dementia.
