摘要: The effect of soluble surfactant on the persistence salt-water bubbles and their ability to produce aerosol particles upon bursting was investigated. Ensembles individual, millimetric were produced in NaCl solutions varying concentration. Aerosol production efficiency-a fundamental property single defined as number per bubble film cap area-decreased by 79% 98% following addition increase solution pressure from 1-2 7-27 mN m(-1). generated particle size distributions (0.01-10 mu m dry diameter) contained up three modes did not change much for pressures 13.8 at water surface thickness caps investigated with high-speed videography. Addition increased average providing more time drain thin out aid marginal regeneration flows. Bubble thicknesses ranged around 1 relatively clean, short-lived less than 0.1 surfactant-stabilized, persistent bubbles. suppression surfactant-stabilized may have resulted dramatic thinning or reduced forces high pressure. Previously reported Sea Spray source functions compared measured efficiencies found be significantly greater magnitude, suggesting that there is a whitecaps captured these single-bubble experiments.
