摘要: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of vision loss in older adults and ultimately leads to death photoreceptor cells area neural retina. Currently, treatments are only available for patients with wet form AMD. In this review, we describe recent approaches develop cell-based therapies treatment Recent research has focused on replacing retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), a monolayer vital cell health. We discuss various methods used differentiate purify RPE from human embryonic stem (HESC), surgical being transplant these existing forthcoming clinical trials.
