摘要: The degradation of materials involving corrosion in handling nitric acid the spent fuel nuclear reprocessing plant is a serious issue. In present work, resistance American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) type 304L stainless steel (SS) grade (NAG) 310L SS 1 to 11.5 M HNO3 boiling 15.65 M was evaluated. both alloy steels, open circuit potential are shifted more noble with increasing concentrations. However, passive current density not affected, transpassive higher rate measured after 240 h shows much lower (∼0.06 ± 0.012 mm/y) then (∼0.18 ± 0.02–0.2 ± 0.001 mm/y). These observations corroborated scanning electron microscope (SEM) morphologies that show severe intergranular (IGC) attack SS. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) study oxide films steels presence Cr2O3 SiO2, depth profile indicated predominant Si enrichment.
