摘要: Abstract Independent reading in the content areas is essential for advancing students’ literacy growth through grades. Middle school students, particular, profit from opportunities to engage actual and, simultaneously, be supported an appropriate structure. Specifically, they need substantial time read, frequent immersion a variety of texts, easy access balanced classroom libraries support in-school and at-home reading, active participation drama-based activities, interesting contexts learning word meanings. These other sources increase effectiveness independent across curriculum by helping middle students not only improve their but also enjoy as lifetime activity.
