摘要: OBJECTIVE Utilizing an experimental vignette design, this study assessed attitudes in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan toward implementation foster care as alternative to institutions for children need and protection. METHODS A sample 111 adults were surveyed Amman presented with a describing 14-year-old boy who came into Ministry Social Development when he was baby after being placed by grandfather because shame surrounding mother unwed. The vignettes systematically varied whether child described raised orphanage, relative kinship placement, or nonkin family. Participants then asked series questions about their acceptance child, stigma that community might attach potential outcomes child. RESULTS We found no differences across between non-kin conditions. 2 options at least acceptable current institutional models all domains, participants more likely accept going school friends if they rather than institution. CONCLUSIONS These results represent first evidence public model may inform process local stakeholders implementing alternatives on meaningful sustainable scale regionally.
