摘要: Abstract Chemically-activated carbons were prepared by reacting corn-stalks with concentrated sulphuric acid at 180–220 °C and activation zinc chloride 600 °C. Sulphuric acid-activated measure surface areas in the order of 20 m 2 /g, while those activated about 700–900 m /g. The concentrations carbon–oxygen functional groups, on are higher than chloride-activated ones. Sorption Cd(II) depends chemistry carbon rather its area. Light metals ions such as Na + decreased ion sorption onto carbons, high concentration may stop carbons. can be used for a number cycles after regeneration slight decrease capacity each cycle. chemically-activated is associated release protons indicating that this heavy metal probably other takes place via exchange mechanism. controlled least partially pore diffusion.
