摘要: Aiming for more sustainable chemical production requires an urgent shift towards synthetic approaches designed waste minimization. In this context the use of azeotropes can be effective tool “recycling” and minimizing large volumes solvents, especially in aqueous mixtures, used. This review discusses implementation different kinds azeotropic mixtures relation to environmental economic benefits linked their recovery re-use. Examples playing a role process performance purification steps maximizing yields while waste. Where possible, advantages reported have been highlighted by using E-factor calculations. Lastly azeotrope potentiality valorization afford value-added materials is given.
