Seed Dormancy in Arabidopsis Is Controlled by Alternative Polyadenylation of DOG1

摘要: DOG1 (Delay of Germination 1) is a key regulator seed dormancy in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) and other plants. Interestingly, the C terminus either absent or not conserved many plant species. Here, we show that Arabidopsis, transcript subject to alternative polyadenylation. In line with this, mutants RNA 3' processing complex display weakened parallel defects proximal polyadenylation site selection, suggesting short functional. This corroborated by finding proximally polyadenylated mRNA translated vivo complements dog1 mutant. summary, our findings indicate protein isoform produced from player establishment characterizes set required for production functional transcript.
