摘要: The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami had a significant impact on the Tamil Nadu coast in India. In this paper, range of field survey data collected by different teams available literature have been analyzed and compiled to serve as basis for validation numerical simulations. individual surveys reveal scatter run-up between teams, which point out that uncertainty these must be taken into account when using them validation. inundation is simulated coastlines Chennai Nagapattinam based high-resolution topography. Different spatially uniform Manning friction well heterogeneous maps used. Overall, simulation results showed good agreement with observations, but there are also some observed spatial variability goodness fit areas, clear discrepancies found. obtained detailed land use including variable not significantly more accurate than those employing constant values. For most parameters indicating relatively low provided best match observations. This may suggest often strongly governed local variations
