摘要: Jehovah's Witnesses who require operation represent a challenge to the physician because of patients' refusal accept blood transfusion. We report 20-year experience with consecutive series 542 Witness patients ranging in age from 1 day 89 years underwent operation. Early mortality (within 30 days after operation) was 9.4%. In 362 requiring temporary cardiopulmonary bypass, early 10.7%. Mortality 13.5% among 126 had single- or double-valve replacement. The only deaths aortic valve replacement repair ventricular septal defect occurred those some serious complication before Preoperative postoperative anemia contributing factor 12 deaths, and loss direct cause three deaths.
